Get involved in worship

If you feel called to participate more directly in the ministry of worship, consider participating in one of these ministries for various ages:

Lay readers and Eucharistic ministers read lessons at worship and assist in administering Holy Communion.

Acolytes carry crosses, torches and banners in processions, assist with the offertory, and help the clergy at the altar.

Altar Guild sets up the church’s altars for all worship services.

Ushers meet and greet people before the service and help collect the offering.

Vergers lead processions and assist in planning the services.

Lay Eucharistic Visitors take Holy Communion to the sick and homebound.

St. Francis Guild provides flowers for the church throughout the year and decorates the church for Christmas and Easter. Guild members also take flowers to parishioners who are ill.
