Pastoral Care

St. Luke's is a caring and supporting place for those with spiritual, physical, emotional, and social needs. If  you are in need of ministry or if you are interested in becoming involved in pastoral care ministries, please call the Pastoral Care Office (828.6425, x 212).

Stephen Ministry is a one-on-one caring ministry for those who wish to have a companion "on the way" through a difficult experience in a relationship of trust and confidentiality. To meet with a Stephen Minister, contact the parish office.

Community of Hope is a training program which equips lay people for serving in a variety of pastoral ministries, such as ministry to the homebound, nursing homes, hospices, hospitals, mission trips, and prison ministry, among others. The Community of Hope is grounded in prayer, shaped by Benedictine spirituality, designed to awaken trainees to God's call in their lives.

Lay Eucharistic Visitors take communion to the homebound and people in hospitals. If you would like to receive home communion please call the parish office.

Congregational Care Assistants provide a telephone ministry to members of our parish who are in the hospital, homebound, bereaved or convalescing. They also call members on their birthdays and wedding anniversaries.

Hospital Callers and Home Visitors are lay volunteers who assist our clergy by visiting parishioners during their hospital stay or those who are homebound.

Bereavement support is offered through many of the pastoral care ministries. There is a grief support group, education about grief, and training for caregivers.

Spiritual Direction provides one-on-one guidance on our spiritual journey. It is helpful to have an experienced guide along the way to aid in seeing the route and warn of dangers and pitfalls. If you are interested in having a spiritual director, please contact the parish office

Recovery Ministries supports those seeking recovery from addiction and offers drug and alcohol education. Alcohol Anonymous meets at St. Luke's on Thursdays at 8.15 p.m.

Feed My Sheep is a ministry which provides a meal to parishioners who are home after hospitalization.

Guild of the Christ Child delivers gifts to mothers with newborns.

Prayer Ministries In addition to our team of intercessors, St. Luke's has other ministries devoted to prayer. The Daughters of the King (DOK) is an order for women in the Episcopal Church who commit to a rule of service and prayer. They also support our bereavement ministry by providing a meal after the death of a parishioner. For information about Prayer Ministries or to make a prayer request contact Rhonda Jordan (828.6425).
