Additional ministries for children and families (Contact the parish office for details.)

Nursery Ministries St. Luke’s nursery staff is both dedicated, enthusiastic, and well-trained. Child-to-caregiver ratios are kept deliberately low in all of our nurseries in order to ensure the best care for our little ones.

Weekday Nursery/Childcare Childcare is provided on weekdays for church-sponsored activities including the Monday morning women’s Bible study as well as several volunteer ministries.

Childcare Request Form

•The Mustard Seed A weekday program for children ages 1 ½ - 3 years of age on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings during the school year. Class sizes are small in order to provide the best possible experience for the children. Families are asked to register for the entire year (Sept. - May).

Seasonal Events
•The Children's Ministries Board provides input and guidance with respect to our various ministries to children and families, plans and leads seasonal events and activities.

•Fall Festival Held October, this event is for the entire St. Luke's community. There is a children's area which includes pumpkin-decorating.

•Advent Wreath Event Observes the beginning of Advent and includes dinner and an opportunity to make an Advent wreath for your home.

•Caroling Event This is an outreach opportunity for the entire family. We travel together via school bus to visit parishioners who are either homebound or in nearby nursing homes.

•Children's Christmas Pageant Held on the third Sunday of Advent, this event is open to all children ages 4 years through fifth grade.

•Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper The Youth of our church prepare an all-you-can-eat pancake supper, while activities for children include a variety of Mardi Gras crafts (making noisemakers, crowns, etc.), as well as burying the Alleluia banner!

•Easter Egg Hunt This happens rain or shine and is open to children ages infant through third grade. Also included is the unearthing of the "Alleluia banner we buried 40+ days before!

•Summer Camper Care Packages Care Packages are sent to St. Luke's children attending summer camp to remind them that their church family is thinking of and praying for them. Parents may contact the Children's Ministries office with details about their camper.

Other "Milestone" Observances

•First Communion Instruction A special class series is offered on five Sunday mornings in the fall. While not a prerequisite to receiving communion, the class does guide children to a deeper understanding of this sacrament. A separate class is offered for parents during this five weeks.

•Fifth Grade Recognition Acknowledging that the end of the elementary school years is an important milestone, these "graduating” fifth-graders and their parents are called forward to a blessing prayer and a student Bible.
